Bushnell Medalist Laser Rangefinder Review

Bushnell Medalist Laser Rangefinder Review

I have used many rangefinders over the years, and they always come in different sizes and shapes. Most of them are good, but they all seem to have advantages and some shortcomings. And so when I went out to buy the Bushnell Medalist I had an idea of what to expect. Just like I had thought, it had many merits and a few shortcomings.

The appearance is probably not the best Golf Rangefinder, but it still looks good enough and most importantly it is easy to use. However, what I liked most is the accuracy and consistency brought about by the PinSeeker Technology. This technology lets you know exactly where the pin is even if you cannot see it or have no idea where it could be, and hence you get more accurate distances to the pin.

Features and Specifications

  • PinSeeker Technology: This feature helps you locate the pin without seeing it. It does this by distinguishing targets on the background.
  • Target Range: Can measure anything between 5 and 1000 yards and there is the option to display in meters or yards. All this is done with an accuracy of plus or minus one yard.
  • Display: Has a simple LCD screen but it is still very clear and has a higher resolution than most others in the same price range.
  • Objective: It is fitted with a 20mm objective lens and 4x magnification capability.
  • Battery: Many users like the fact that it comes with a 9-volt battery that can easily be found for replacement and it is also cheap.
  • Casing: Come with rubber armoring that protects it from impact in case of a fall. It is also rainproof to ensure continued use in humid conditions.
  • Weight and Dimension: It weighs slightly over nine ounces when the battery is fitted. The dimensions of this device are 1.7x45x3.8 inches.
  • Scan Mode: Allows for continuous measurement in a vast landscape while providing real-time updates as you scan.

Benefits

The greatest benefit of using this Bushnell golf rangefinder comes from its PinSeeker Technology. It might sound like a standard feature, but you will be amazed at the difference that it can make in a game. This feature lets you locate the pin accurately even with all hazards on the green and long distances. Another benefit that you get from this device is lower scores, and the difference is so big that you will even notice it the very first time that you use this rangefinder.

Pros

  • Just like most other Bushnell rangefinders, it has an accuracy that those from different manufacturers can only dream of.
  • Its small size means that you can comfortably handle it with one hand, but it is better to use both hands to get steady readings.
  • The battery life is exceptional, and it will comfortably take you through many rounds of golf without blinking.
  • Bushnell Medalist has a universal application as it works on all courses without any map or memory issues.
  • Durability and ease of use are also a manufacturer’s promise when you buy this rangefinder.

Cons

  • Although the case looks very attractive, it is quite flimsy and not rugged enough. Depending on how often you use the rangefinder it will only last a couple of weeks.
  • Despite the fact that it functions as the manufacturer claims most users are of the opinion that the design is not very attractive and could be better with some improvements.
  • It may be difficult to view reading if there is no optimal light outside.

Conclusion

The features available in the Bushnell Medalist are very useful on all golf courses. Since the device is also very easy to use it makes play much easier and interesting than it would be without using the device. Although it might not be as high end as other rangefinders from Bushnell, it will still provide a golfer with everything that they need and it also does not cost much. Whether you are a newbie or a pro you can speed up play, increase accuracy and improve your overall performance with the Bushnell Medalist.
